Bill of Neighbours’ Rights

Being good to neighbours is not only restricted to those who share the same building with you: your roommate at school, the person sitting next to you on a bus, the colleague sharing your office at work – these people are all your neighbours. They should all be treated with kindness and respect.

Article the First:
Introduce yourself and your family to your neighbours when you move into a new place or when new neighbors move in.

Article the Second:
Care for neighbours continually, especially at times of need and distress. If a neighbor is elderly or ill, offer to run errands or shop for them.

Article the Third:
Share meals with neighbours by inviting them to dinner or accepting their invitation to the same. Make sure you send over a portion to your neighbours whenever you cook something special.

Article the Fourth:
Conduct mutual visits so that the families can interact in a constructive way.

Article the Fifth:
While socializing with neighbours, present yourself in the best way possible. Always greet your neighbours with a smile.

Article the Sixth:
Create a positive social influence in your neighbourhood by fostering a good atmosphere. Encourage participation in local philanthropic projects.

Article the Seventh:
Always keep in mind the mighty reward that is in store for you in the hereafter when you show kindness to a neighbor.
